First lets clear some things up
.
Neither PG nor Loudoun will have P25 Phase 2 systems. Both will have
Motorola proprietary systems. THE ONLY RADIOS THAT WILL WORK IN TDMA MODE WILL
BE MOTOROLA RADIOS. If and when they ever get upgraded to a P25 Phase II
system has yet to be seen.
The reader below asks if it will work with the P25 systems (phase I) that
most jurisdictions around here use. There are only 3 P25 systems in the
area: Arlington County, MdTA BWI airport system and the Military Joint NCR 380
Mhz Radio system.
Again EVERYONE else (DC, Alex, MWAA, Fair, PW, Mont, Fred, Carrol, Howard,
AA, Calvert, Charles, Fauq, Manassas, Balt City, Balt Co., Harford, QA,
Talbot, Dorchester, Caroline and Wicomico) uses a Motorola proprietary system
and can only use Motorola radios (or EFJ who is licensed from Motorola).
Both of these facts mean that these systems are not P25 by the definition
alone of an open standard system (P25) .
BE very careful what you refer to as P25 systems since most in this area
are NOT!!!

I kindof skimmed the other messages here; does anyone know if this
proposed new thing (did I see TDMA?) is compatible with / will interoperate with
the APCO-25 systems that most jurisdictions around here are now using? (I
did see that it will not work with our scanners...)
