Federal Courthouse and Street Closures

The Federal Court has advised they an investigation is underway relating to a suspicious package in the courthouse mailroom.  As a precaustion, Fire/Police have made some street closures.

About 15 minutes ago it was reported that loud explosions were heard in the vicinity of FPB [the Francis Perkins Building of the Department of Labor, near the Capitol].  A group was demonstrating to media illegal and banned fireworks on the West front of the Capitol on 3rd Street.  DC Fire was on the scene.
