In the public service world I think that's about it. However, the other topic that seems to get a huge amount of attention is milcom. There's a TON of that around this area; to introduce yourself to the topic see the Delmarva milcom link on the Capitol Hill Monitors main webpage.
As to which of the current new trunktrackers is 'best' - boy there have been TONS of threads over on RR on the subject! You do have a userid and password, right?? There's really no need to rehash all of that here, as far as I'm concerned. One thing to keep in mind - at least in some cases, it seems the GRE/RS radios are more prone to overloading/intermod issues than the Uniden counterparts (particularly so if you put a good discone or similar on them).
