Here's an article on the crash. Three dead. The interstate wasn't fully
opened until 3:30 this afternoon. The Tom's Brook exit is the one I take to
get out to my house. That stretch of I-81 is not particularly dangerous, but
apparently there was a patch of dense fog that precipitated the accident.
This is one example of a crash that in the future will be prevented by the
widespread use of the new vehicular radars that can warn drivers of slowed
or stopped vehicles in front of you. Most of the radars work at 24 or 76
GHz, and propagate just fine in fog.
