Correction - 10-41 means ur ok. Most times the officer would just answer "41". You can tell the old school officers/dispatchers still revert back to those old codes on occasion and how can you blame them? It was ingrained in them since the academy to do it one way - and it's just a reaction - body memory if you will to say it.

10-40 is welfare check
10-40 is I'm ok
If the emergency button is pushed the dispatcher will ask "XXXX unit, what
is your EB status?" If they ask twice and get no response the dispatcher
will process it as an officer in trouble (10-50) and send the world.
On the fire side a request for immediate police response if you are
personally in danger is a "signal 3" in addition to/or instead of pushing
the EB.
