Thanks, read Don's article a while back.

I was inquiring mostly because all things in government rules are  
subject to change with the day of the week.  It would be interesting  
to see if they had given any consideration to hobbyists, or will we  
continue to be coyly accused of being involved in terrorist  
surveillance operations. *rolls eyes*

One would think all the RR's would be used to railfans being that  
people have been taking train pics for decades.  But it never fails,  
always some Barney Fife out there that is either making up rules as  
they go along. Or some incorrectly claim that railroad photography  
from public property is against federal law which it absolutely isn't.
