Hey Doug and all,
No need to summarize since the whole review, in fact, most all our MT
reviews are online at the MT website. You can see the 396 review at
http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/mtbcd396t.pdf
We post our reviews and some other select items such as our annual airshow
guide, NASA freq guide, etc as a free service to the radio hobby community.
The MT website has lots of goodies and if you are a reader or subscriber, we
have a lot more behind the firewall in the MT readers only portion of the
website.

Hey Larry, when you have a chance, could you summarize here for us the
gripes from your 396 review? I'm curious... thanks!
I have noticed a tendency to push the Menu or Func buttons when picking it
up, causing it to boop and make me wonder what I've done... and I don't care
for the shifting between ID Scan and ID Search by hitting the Search key -
have made it change modes when I didn't want it to by trying to make it go
on when it's stopped. The whole "hold down Func and do something else"
routine is pretty awkward, for that matter... but I'm not sure of a better
way to do it - the price we pay for a small radio, I guess.
Also, for the record, I don't like the concentric volume and squelch
controls that the desktop radios have, and I'd settle for them being a
little bigger and having an internal 115VAC power supply rather than a
"brick" - baah! :)
Regards,
Doug
