This tread is slightly off scan-dc topic but something I alway wondered 
about.   Some years ago I monitored MDW ANC radio traffic.   I got the sense 
when it came to a flyover, their might be a bias toward USAF persons or 
perhaps it was just for pilots.  Considering how much more impressive a 
'flyover and gun salute' is to a 'gun salute only'  I always thought if the 
cost was justified for one it should be justfied for all (the familieis) who 
had a loved one die in combat, regardless of rank, branch of service, or 
what kind of machinery they were operating when the got killed.
