[Scan-DC] PRO-106, PRO-197 Programming

I should elaborate on that last message.
The TSYS is an object unto itself...the TALKGROUPS associated with that TSYS
can reside in one or all twenty scanlists.
For instance....I recently wanted to listen to DC Harbor Patrol talkgroup on
DC's system. I selected it to output on scanlists 1, 5, 10, 17, and 20.
Each of the scanlists I listed also contain Montgomery County Police
(scanlists 1, 5,) Washington National Airport (scanlist 10) and Fairfax
County (scanlist 17). I currently have DC's talkgroups to output on
scanlist 16, though I rarely listen to them.
The radio first checks the TSYS's and whether or not to "open up" a
talkgroup to output to audio, based on whether or not the talkgroup is
listed, then, if it appears in an active scanlist.
After it scans the TSYS frequencies, it then scans all of the conventional
frequencies.

All,
I currently have two separate TSYS's in one scanlist....one is a digital
trunk, the other is an 800mhz conventional trunk. It works just fine. The
radio doesn't seem to care where an object is outputted to...the TSYS is an
object unto itself, therefore, it can reside in one list, or all twenty,
just like a conventional frequency. A scanlist is just that, a list of
objects that have been grouped in one location. Hope this helps.

Me either! Didn't want to give it away, but what I'm really wondering is;
there _is_ a limit of 20 "scan lists", and every "scannable object", whether
it's a talkgroup or a conventional channel, has to be linked to a scan list.
If I program in 20 trunked systems, and use a different scan list for each,
what happens when I put in a 21st trunked system? Will the radio know that
these talkgroups go with the frequencies for this trunking system, and those
talkgroups go with the frequencies for that system? See what I mean?
(Thinking about it...) To put it yet another way, how are the talkgroups
linked to the TSYSs... is it through the scanlists? If so, then you're
limited to 20 trunking systems. But if they're linked through the _name_ of
the trunking system, _then_ the limiting factor becomes the memory usage...
right? Wrong?
I guess I'll have to try programming two trunking systems into a single
scanlist and test it... it could be that the link is through the name...
will also have to join one of the yahoo groups or whatever, I guess!
