TOWNS TO SIGN HISTORIC POLICING AGREEMENT

Bladensburg, Colmar Manor, Cottage City & Edmonston

Colmar Manor, Maryland On Wednesday, January 7th the Towns of
Bladensburg, Colmar Manor, Cottage City & Edmonston will sign a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to allow the police departments of
each Town to work cooperatively.  The signing ceremony will take place
during the Port Towns Legislative Dinner, designed to
inform the Port Towns' elected officials of upcoming legislative
impacting the Towns. The MO.U will be signed by Mayor Walter L. James,
Jr. and Acting Town Administrator/Chief of Police John Moss of
Bladensburg, Mayor Dianrva Fennell, Clerk Treasurer Daniel Baden and
Chief of Police Fred Keeney of Colmar Manor, Council Chairperson
Aileen McChesney and Police Chief Steven Watkins of Cottage City and
Mayor Adam Ortiz, Town Administrator Guy Tiberio and Police Chief
Steve Walker of Edmonston.

Although in the past some of the Tovms operated under a separate MOU,
this 'mil be the first joint MOU to include all Departments under a
single document.

Mayor Walter L. James said.. ."this agreement will further solidify
the safety of our communities and is an essential foundation of our
neighborhoods.

Mayor Dianna Fennel said.. ."this agreement will increase our police
force numbers in the event of a serious incident in the Town. This MOU
is another example of how
the Port Towns continue to work together."

Chairperson Aileen Chesney commented .. ."This agreement demonstrates
our commitment toward partnership and resolve toward the betterment
and wellbeing of
our Towns."

Mayor Adam Ortiz states...." The agreement speaks to the foundation of
the Port Towns philosophy; cooperation for the betterment of the
Towns."

The signing will take place at the Crossroads Restaurant, 4103
Baltimore Ave,, Bladensburg, MD 20710.
