Thanks for all the responses, guys... sorry I didn't put in a subject earlier, I guess I was running out of steam last night! Am continuing to explore the options... on one of the reviews of the item that I looked at on Newegg, the guy is actually using it to interface with a 796... I think that may be the answer at only 7 bucks...
