At 6 p.m EDT on Sunday evening, a 747-size aircraft flew over the Del Ray part of Alexandria. It was headed to the southeast, low enough that it appeared to be on the way to Andrews AFB. I thought at first it might be AF1 or one of the planes that serve as AF1, but I could clearly see that the vertical stabilizer ("tail") was bright red - like Northwest Orient Airlines. I couldn't imagine that Bush is having visitors, as he is leaving for Beijing any day now. Was this a retiring Northwest pilot making a final joyride?
