Hello Ronald,

I've used both passive (many years ago) and active multicouplers from Stridsberg the past several years. I primarily listen to MilAir so many of the signals I copy are fairly weak while others are kicking since the aircraft are almost directly overhead. I can tell you that I quickly rejected the passive versions due to the inherent loss. Once I changed to Stridsberg active multicouplers (I use both 4-port and 8-port versions), I've never felt a need to try anything else. I have never experienced overload - no matter how strong the received signal may be since all the active multicoupler is doing is amplifying the signal back to its original received level to overcome the approximate 3db loss caused by splitting the signal. I can't speak for other brands and whether an overload condition would happen as someone else expressed but it sure doesn't happen with the Stridsberg. My use is for a single antenna to feed several radios/scanners.

Stridsberg multicouplers are very expensive which is the only downside. However, they are guaranteed for life with no questions asked.

radios.I have been looking at stridesbreg models.I would like to receive
comments on the active v passive units.I am also interested in
