[Scan-DC] Online Scanner Feeds

(I tried to send this to Scan-dc but ended up replying to Doug instead, which is not what I wanted to do - I
DESPISE this mail client Netscape makes you use...)

Anyway we do indeed have a series of articles on online audio - all linked through a category page here -

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Category:Online_Radios

Think of a category in MediaWiki as a high level index. Just double click on the 'live scanners' link. You will
see a link to the CHM audio section for each of our 4 areas. Actually I have a problem getting that updated-
the company where I work has a firewall that blocks the audio from these sites, so I don't have a good way
of checking which ones are dead or not. I know the IBN links are now restricted, so I have to fix those - but I would suspect there are others, too. Still it's a start. IRLP links are included simply because we have
a large ham community and that network is probably the largest one in our area.

The aforementioned Live Scanner Audio Yahoo group is linked there along with 1 or 2 other Yahoo groups that
also serve online audio interests - and there's a dedicated forum for Streaming audio on the RR forums.
That too is linked on the category page. I would imagine there are many other such Yahoo (and maybe other
servers too) groups that are dedicated to online scanner audio, but I don't know of them at the moment.

Is any of that tracked on RadioReference.com?

(Those guys do a Sterling job - not wishing anything else on them...
necessarily!) :)

Of course, keeping track of individuals (rather than jurisdictions
themselves) could be rather volatile...
