Crosspointe Fire and Rescue Station 41 Grand Opening

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department will host the grand
opening of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Station 41, at 11 a.m.,
Saturday, July 21, 2007.  Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman
Gerald E. Connolly and Springfield District Supervisor Elaine
McConnell will join Fire Chief Ronald L. Mastin and Station Commander
Captain James Hedrick for the traditional "uncoupling of hose"
ceremony.

The station is approximately 14,800 square feet with four drive
through bays and accommodates 39 personnel on three separate shifts.
Crosspointe will serve the Hampton Woods, Crosspointe, Virginia
Estates, Southpointe, Lorfax Heights, and Lorton communities.

Assigned apparatus include: engine, advanced life support unit, ladder
truck, tanker, and an EMS Supervisor.  The station is the 37th station
in the county.  The Crosspointe station opened for emergency responses
on May 7, 2007.

The station meets the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) silver requirements, incorporating the use of natural lighting,
energy efficient HVAC system, recycled and non-toxic materials, and
reflective roofing materials.

The public is cordially invited to attend.  Firefighters will provide
tours of the station.
