[Scan-DC] Arlington PD?

Doug K has seen my 996. I paid $550 for it. The remote head is going to be a
great option. Unfortunately when someone hit my truck they snapped the knobs
and bent the volume shaft. Uniden's repair cost is around $50 bucks which
doesn't seem to bad. I personally do like it. For the True P25 system it
works well. I have yet to add a Descrim tap to it.

Hi Dan and list - if you are contemplating getting a trunktracker, you will
unfortunately need to endure some sticker shock - even on the used market,
the digital tts (which is what you will need to copy P25) aren't cheap.
You can find pretty complete articles ('page' in Wiki speak) on each of the
available models here...
http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/RR_FAQ
Go to the bottom of the page where it mentions 'handhelds' and
'base/mobiles'.
An interesting sidebar, for those that are interested - Uniden has announced
a remote head option that will work with the 396 and 330 handhelds, along
with the 996 and BCT15; it will be available in the spring.
The RR Wiki has a little information on the remote head - just click on the
appropriate link in the desired model's article.

453.825 used to be a simulcast of the main dispatch, just analog, but at
last listen appears to be dead. I guess there may have to be a trunk
tracker of some sort in my future.
