This is the gas station at Columbia Pike near Wayne and Adams Streets,
between Washington Boulevard and the Ski Chalet. There were no occupants,
so the call is of a lesser priority than you might imagine.

Fire trucks have been going to and fro in Alexandria, though the new
digital system excludes me from the action. My guess, based on previous
downpours, is that the drainage system is overwhelmed in the lower
portions of the city, with the result that many intersections are
flooded. I can see lights in the north end of Old Town, so the power has
not gone out there.

Metro has track inspections ordered, and there was a call for crowd
control at Metro Center. Expect CSX and NS, the mainline railroads, to
have track inspectors out too. It may be the case that the morning
commute on VRE and MARC will be subject to delays.

I haven't been checking the aviation frequencies to see if flights have
been diverted from Washington National Airport.
