Al,

In the early 90's I worked on the mobile data terminals in Beaufort, SC.
According to the Public Safety folks their 800Mhz systems had a number of
dead spots, and Motorola had to install a number of new towers to fix the
problem.

I think this is a "feature" of 800Mhz. Many years ago we were told that
450MHz provided the best penetration of concrete and steel, and higher
frequencies were progressively more difficult to use.

Happy '06,

Rick

Was in the local nx paper here,Md. Independent, how Charles County had to
spend more $$,after millions already spent, so's Motorola can "fix dead
spots" in the new system.

I wonder if ANY "new" radio system from Motorola has ever come in
on,forget under,budget?
