[Scan-DC] scanner recommendation?

 Hi. Looking for a good used scanner. Are there any out there that
stand out more than the others?  I know nothing about triple trunking
or if it is still being used here in the AA county area. I have no interest
in listening to cell phone conversations.

 I do want one that will be most useful for my area.  I would prefer
the best available with a good front end. I have a variety of interests
from military action to ham radio monitoring .

 Any ideas of what to look for?
