[Scan-DC] Discone at the beach

Hey All,
I went to OC Maryland for a couple of days and i took my Diamond Discone with me.I did not however take the bottom elements of the antenna with me and i tell you what it worked great!!!I I used it up in the hotel room with a Radio Shack Pro -2042 and some low loss Huber Suhner microwave cable. I mounted the antenna on top of a tri-pod out on the balcony.I remember watching the Blue Angels a couple of years ago use what looked like a discone without the bottom elements so i figured i would give it a shot.No new freqs down the beach but i heard a couple of good Coast Guard calls 157.150. Nothing really interesting on the Mil side.
