LCD displays produce much less interference than CRTs. I suffered 
from no end of interference (mostly on HF but extending into VHF as 
well) from CRT dusplays. I finally went to an LCD, and my 
interference problems are greatly reduced. Not eliminated, since you 
still have the high frequency signals travelling on the video cable 
(not to mention interference from the computer itself), but much 
better.

Regarding low end PCs, I only have one (I primarily use Macs) but 
don't get much interference from it. Of course it is in a fairly 
rugged metal case.
