Fairfax County PD station 2 units had a chase on Monday morning,
at about 10am, of an armed robery suspect. They followed him all the
way into PG and it ended in a bail-out/barricade around Balt/Wash Parkway
and Riverdale Rd, specifically on Patterson Street.

But what I found noteworthy was that while Fairfax had up their helipcopter
to follow their officers and ensure commuinication until Cheverly, PG,
Park and
Md State joined in (DC naturally missed the whole thing even though it
went up
295 through DC), station 2 units on the ground in PG came in loud and
clear on
the Fairfax system (and it appeared those in PG could could hear their
base side fine).
At one pt a Fairfax Lt communicated on the Fairfax radio repeater system
to one
of his officers on the other side of the barricaded house (using the
station 2 dispatch
talkgroup).

They were probably on the car radios and not the portables, but still an
impressive
reach both ways for the 800Mhz signal.
