On Tuesday (March 15), a group of students from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg,
plan to launch of a single-stage Orion sounding rocket from NASA's Wallops
Flight Facility on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The rocket carries a 194-pound
Mesospheric Aerosol-Genesis and Composition (MAGIC) experiment designed to
collect dust particles in the mesospheric range of the atmosphere. The
MAGIC experiment was developed under the direction of personnel from the
Naval Research Lab, Washington, D.C.
The launch window runs from 6 to 9 a.m. Eastern Time.
I haven't monitored a launch from Wallops in a long time so I'm not sure
how reliable the following information is but here are some frequencies
I've used in the past;
121.700 - Wallops Clearance Delivery
121.950 - Range surveillance aircraft
123.400 - Range surveillance aircraft
126.500 - Wallops Tower
132.550 - Washington Center
156.600 - NASA Control
311.200 - Range surveillance aircraft
N720C (King Air 720C) has provided range surveillance in the past.
