[Scan-DC] RE: Charles County Sheriff's Dept

  Well my friend if you are looking for "PROFESSIONALS",when it come's to 
Charles County Communications,it will be a very long search indeed.I'm from 
the county,did the VFD thing,a stint with the Sheriff's dept & the 
dispatching has always left alot to be desired.They are still stuck in the 
good-ol-boy network & the not how good you are but who you know system.

  They,dispatchers,get easily rattled,play favorites,especially re the FD & 
on a number of occasions laughter,playing around in the background & such 
has covered radio comm's.They were like that in the 70's/80's/90's & they 
are like that today.I've heard them start to sound tones for a FD 
run,stop,&,the same dispatcher, begin routine comms with a deputy,end that 
& go back to the FD run.

  I think one big reason for the new trunk system is they are hoping not as 
many people,outside the agency's, will hear them.

  Give them another 20 years & they may be catching up with how it's 
supposed to be done.
