  As some of you may know, I've taken the list of Combat Air Patrol frequencies we had in the last newsletter, and changed it to an ARC250 file. That has been posted on our ARC250 library page under milairdc.zip. However, I've also distributed .csv versions of this file and posted them in various places. It should be possible to import some version of these files into Win96; however, about 2/3 of the file would be iffy in terms of reception, since the PRO96 isn't designed to work in the milair UHF range. You might get good results; you might not. The scanner isn't defective if it doesn't work well in this range.

 There are, however, a number of VHF milair frequencies in that file that might work well, since that range (138-144 mhz) is within its operational range.

 You can find these files in the following places;

- In the Washington DC forum at Radio Reference, under the topic 'Combat Air Patrol Frequency Files';

- In the files area of the following Yahoo groups;
  MilaircommsChat
  SouthernMdScannerForum
  Scan-Hagerstown
  MD_Scan

  It should also be possible to import these frequencies into scanners made by AOR, Icom and Yaesu. There are several variants, dependent on the scanner (for the 780, 898T, 895, PRO2052 and one that lists just about everything in one bank). Scan Control users can go to the ScanControl Yahoo group and download .dat files for the 895 and 780; if you are using the digital tts with Scan Control, it will automatically upgrade these files for use when you open them with your scanner connected.

  73s and good hunting....Mike
