143.975 should be either a MARS or a CAP freq.  If the calls have an "NNN" 
prefix it's Navy MARS, if it's "AAF" it's Air Force and if it's "AA" it's 
Army.

I am sure you know this but I figured I would throw it out. I have this freq
as in use by the MD ANG A-10s. I am not scanning it as I already have it
tagged and locked out.

It definitely could  been someone else but usually when I hear that freq I
generally expect to hear the MD boys up on it.

On a side note. I have been getting good copy on 143.975 in FM. Definite HAM
type comms. I think this is one of the local HAM/MARS nets. Seem like a nice
bunch of folks on there. I may even look into getting involved with that one
of these days.
