   but interesting nonetheless; it's about 5 pm, and about 10 mins ago I 
had Mike Fincke on the space station on 145.8 working Virginia area 
hams.  Just had this on my beat up old 895 and antenna in the 
attic.  Probably had a very high pass, and only lasted a couple of mins 
before I lost it.

   It just goes to show you don't always need expensive gear to hear the 
good stuff; you just need to be at the right place at the right time.
