[Scan-DC] Police cruisers

I've been seeing these police cruisers, with light bars, out here
in Northern Virginia that appear to have a gold logo in the shape of
a badge, somewhat reminiscent of the Park Police logo, that bears
the title "United States Police". The cars are white with a fairly
expansive red and white strip design across the rear doors and
extending, I'm fairly sure, onto the fender area above the rear
wheel. The word POLICE is displayed across the rear of the vehicle
below the trunk, and also very boldly displayed in blue on the front
doors below the logo area.
I'm just interested in finding out who they are. An internet
search turned up only a single reference to "United States Police"
as the name of a policing entity, and that reference was in relation
to jobs being offered through the U.S. Park Police. The tours of
duty for those advertised jobs would be in Washington, New York or
San Francisco. It is possible that the ad I saw merely omitted the
word "Park" from the departmental designation, a simple
typographical error. Or, is there a special "United States Police"
that operates under the National Park Service? Or, are these "wanna
be" police or even the CIA police?
Didn't get a glimpse of the antenna, so I can't venture a guess as
to frequency of operation, though they all are migrating to upper
frequencies anyway.
