[Scan-DC] Pro 96 Firmware Upgrade

Yeah that's the *DSP* upgrade. My question refers to the CPU/FIRMWARE
upgrade.

It has since been confirmed by multiple sources at radio shack. The scanner
needs to be taken to a corporate Radio Shack store and sent to the Fort
Worth repair facility for the "CPU 1.3 In-warranty Upgrade".

Thanks

I found this at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CenTexComm/

"The Radio Shack Pro-96 also has a necessary software upgrade that will have
to be done if it is not already loaded onto the scanner. It has to be done
to be able to monitor the Simulcast sites and if you are not sure if it's
been done, then just do it anyway since it will not hurt it. It can be
found at:

ons.pdf "

The radioreference.com radio reference forum has a couple threads stating
that Radio Shack has a program in place for early adopters to send their
radios in for a cpu/firmware upgrade to v1.3.

This takes care of the tg lockout bug and other issues and is NOT the dsp
upgrade that can be downloaded.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

John
