[Scan-DC] carrier / open mike 153.95

All,

I had to sign off the list for a few weeks, so forgive me if this is a 
repost... am just getting back on and will check in the archives... but...

Since last weekend sometime, I've been getting a carrier, like an open mike, 
on Montgomery County Fire's old VHF Channel 1, 153.95.  (I live in 
Montgomery Village, near the intersection of Goshen and Snouffer's School 
Roads.)

Seem to also be picking it up with the scanner in the car, as far south as 
Montgomery College in Rockville - I also have a scanner on my desk (MC 
Rockville) but that one doesn't seem to be affected... maybe it's out of 
range?  Currently, fire transmissions are coming in here at work loud and 
clear, 5-9er-9er, 5x5, or however you'd like to put it!

So... does anybody know what might be going on?

(Jeez, I hope this isn't a "birdie" or something caused by the 50 thousand 
million megawatts of WMET...)
