If you buy one brand new out of the box, they are pretty
expensive. But you might keep an eye out for one that can be refurbished
and ready - I've seen them on eBay for $400-600 and I suspect with some
diligence and luck you might land one for the low end of that range
or even less.
Whether this would be a good idea depends on your tolerance for
risk and whether you have access to someone who could replace the
capacitor's that dry out in them. If either you or someone you know
is a competant tech, you could easily expect to have a working good
as new radio for that price after capacitor replacement and maybe
an alignment tweek or two.
