Doing a little experiment for a week or 2 to determine which of my scanners
would be the best for recording with using Spectrum Commander. I have set up
the BC780, ICOM PCR-1000 & Pro-2035 W/OS535 Board all on different computers
with the exact same Scan files. All hooked to the same attic mounted RS
Discone via a Stridesberg MCA-208 Multicoupler. Once I pick the best scanner
out of these three, then I am going to compare it with the BC-250. This
should help me pick out the best scanner for recording purposes. I figured I
would post my thoughts daily with my Audio Log Notes in case there where any
other folks who might my curious as to what I come up with.

Audio Log Notes:

307.25
SNAKE 01 with apparent ATC. And several other A/C with apparent ATC

139.75
SNAKE, Flight of 4, apparently transiting the area. Switched 307.25. Then
316.15 for ATIS. They said this was ATIS for ACY but that's not what the IFR
says. Landed RWY 31

270.05
Several aircraft with an ATC APP

301.625
A/C asking if someone else was up.

264.1
A/C reporting 13K

335.8
Weak comms, nothing gained

386.85
Weak comms, nothing gained

252.8
A/C with PCT APP

251.1
Weak comms, nothing gained

282.45
Weak comms, nothing gained

390.35
Weak comms, used as an Interplane freq. Freq comes back as a possible NATO
freq. I catch it extremely weak every few days. Never can get anything out
of it.

293.275
Had a harmonic of a HAM repeater (BC780 & OS535)

301.625
Had a harmonic of a HAM repeater as (BC780)

301.625
Harmonic of Public Safety Comms. (OS535)

Scanner Notes:

BC780
Had a lot of hits but most appeared to be false hits. Scanner hit a freq for
a fraction of a second with no apparent signal indicated. Also picked up the
most Harmonics with this one.

Pro-2035
2nd highest number of Harmonics.

PCR-1000
No apparent Harmonics, no false hits as yet. I like what I see with this one
thus far but it is the slowest scanner of the bunch.
