[Scan-DC] Recommendation (and installation) of antennas in townhouse attic crawlspace

Good morning. My wife and I have purchased a five-level townhouse in
the Falls Church area of McLean. We will be moving into it in early
August. This creates issues for the redeployment of my "bunker"/radio
shack. I have picked out a lower-level room in the townhouse to serve
this purpose, but I am anticipating that the running of coaxial cable
from the attic to the lower level will be at best challenging. I
hoping that there will be some sort of empty space or drop between walls
centered next the stairwell allowing cable to drop the entire distance.

I am looking for two recommendations from either professionals or the
local scanning enthusiast community: first, what are your
recommendations of what brand/model of omni-directional continuous
coverage antenna works best in an attic environment (mounting and
performance)? I will be operating a BC785D, BC950, and IC-PCR1000. I
will also need a separate set-up for HF. Most likely it will be some
sort of skywire dipole for an IC-R75.

Second, I am in dire need for a name of a company or individual who does
knows how to properly install radio antennas and who can do a reasonably
professional job of cabling. I have used both Davis and Fairfax Antenna
in the past, but I feel that they have no real knowledge of amateur or
professional radio antennas. I have always been suspect if my antennas
had been properly installed and aligned for best performance.

Please feel free to respond via the list or privately. Again, I plan to
do this installation in early to mid August. The location is near Kirby
and Great Falls Streets.

Thanks,
