All,

In the early 1500 hour EDT on 157.125 there was an announcement by a West
Asian accented English speaker that a bomb threat had been received that a bomb
had been placed in one of their accommodations.

The accented voice identified himself as the Command team and ordered various
teams (Security, Technical, Support, Main Deck) to commence searching for the
bomb according to the established search plan.

The various teams were apparently reporting in to the Command Team, but I
could only hear the Command Team speaker.

Although the speaker didn't announce it as such, since searched areas were
"cleared" rather quickly, I suspect that this was some sort of an exercise,
probably on board one of the cruise ships which operate out of Baltimore. The time
frame of this activity coincided with the time the cruise ships normally load
passengers in the late afternoon then depart the port of Baltimore around
5:30 or 6:00 PM.

Every now and then the Command team speaker would break into Hindi/Urdu
language with some of his net.

It was also strange that they were using an established US Coast Guard VHF
freq, so possibly this activity was being monitored by the Coast Guard Sector
Baltimore.

The activity ended abruptly at 1518 EDT with no confirmation as to a real or
"exercise" scenario.
