[Scan-DC] DC Simulcasts

Not to argue, but if this is the case, shouldn't the BC250D do the same? It
is monitoring the control channel just like the XTS-3000. If the control
channel tells all of the 7 zones to monitor the same frequency for the
purpose of monitoring the simulcast, then all of the 7 zones on the BC250D
should also be instructed to do the same thing. I'll admit that I have no
idea on what is happening behind the scenes (hence, the reason I posted the
question). I have watched some simulcasts on Trunker, and see that a patch
is established before the simulcast is initiated. However, I **don't
think** that I have this type of problem at night when 1D and Citywide are
patched together.

The reason simulcast traffic is on one frequency instead of all seven is
because it doesn't NEED to be. The system controller is always telling your
radio
what frequency to be tuned to. When you are tuned to 1D and someone talks,
the controller instructs all radios set to 1D to a specific frequency to
hear
it. If they are doing a simulcast, all they need to do is assign a
frequency,
and instruct EVERY radio to that frequency, regardless of which talkgroup
they
are set to.
