North East, MD (WJZ) Major concern north of Baltimore Saturday after a =
CSX train carrying hazardous chemicals comes off the tracks. It happens =
just after noon in Northeast, in Cecil County. The 72 car CSX train was =
traveling from Richmond, Virginia to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when at =
least twenty cars derailed. Eleven of the cars contained harzardous =
materials; two of them were holding phosphoric acid, which spilled. For =
a time...water supply to parts of Northeast was turned off. Residents in =
nearly twenty homes were evacuated, but have since been allowed to =
return. At this point, the cause of the derailment is under =
investigation.
