Many are using cell and/or Nextel Direct-Connect, but these frequencies were
active in past years. Most were able to be heard throughout the DC metro
area, including Sterling:

Subject: [Scan-DC] Media frequencies

Some years ago, while living in another city, I could catch (with my analog
scanner) frequencies from local TV stations. Not what is broadcasted but the
communications between the studio and remote reporters and even some
communications within the studios. It was pretty interesting to watch the
live news and hear the behind-the-scene stuff going on at the same time.

Anybody knows such frequencies in DC/Northern Virginia. Even if there are
any (they are probably originating from DC or close by), I have a feeling
that they won't make it all the way to Sterling, VA where I am located,
right?

Thanks!
