Darn. Didn't have my scanner on. 

The Alexandria PD was quite busy right around 3 p.m. this afternoon. One
officer accidentally shot another at the intersection of Fayette and
Wythe Streets, which is northwest of Old Town. (For the record, "Wythe"
rhymes with "Smith." TV stations, please take note.) I was at the
intersection of Prince and West Streets at the time. My location was on a
direct route from PD HQ to the scene of the shooting. One cruiser after
another went by running code 3. Supervisor, unmarked cars - it seemed as
if the parade would never end. I had my scanner with me, but because I
was inside, I had it turned off. Not until all the cars went speeding by
did I turn it on.
