I have only seen one report of a Blue 24 NORAD freq and that originated
in the NORAD Western SOCC and the frequency was 320.60 MHz. Whether that
will translate to here on the east coast is still subject to debate.
Right after 9/11 as we were transitioning thru unknown territory (i.e.
SCATANA implementation - security control of air traffic and navigation
aids) we saw a wide variety of designators in use from all three of the
NORAD CONUS SOCCs. I never did hear any colors being mentioned down here
in the SE SOCC. Lotsa of primary and secondary stuff that still is being
used today. I saw reports of its use a bit more in the NE SOCC but not
enough to make a hard determination if the west coast and east coast
designators were common. Now the western SOCC was eatten up with colors,
We had your Aqua, your Amber (FAA ARTCC freqs), Black, Blue, Copper,
Gold, Silver, and White that I know of. Don't ya just love a rainbow?
If someone in the DC CAP area would like to work with me to correlate
some NE SOCC monitoring with the rest of the country, by all means give
me a shout out. I monitor the ATL CAP when it is up and I have some
solid folks on the west coast. Maybe if we can get some help, we can put
out some valid info to this and other Milcom related nets and get down
to the bottom of things.
If your intertested contact me offlist and we will see what we can work
on together.
