IIRC, there was a post a couple of months ago saying
that Fairfax EMS uses Nextel for their dispatch and
communication.
If this is true, today's events may prove how unwise
of a decision that was.
If this hurricane causes high winds or high water that
takes out local area Nextel service 
-OR-
if events cause the system to be overloaded, there
will be no Fairfax EMS communications.
