[Scan-DC] MSP 44.74 MHz: Packet format & contents?

Sitting here listening to SysCom and several MSP "Trooper" helicopters on 
44.74 MHz this Sunday afternoon.  

Have noticed previously and today the data packets interspersed along with 
the voice on the frequency.

Are these packets "standard" 1200 bps AX.25 style packets?

Is the content of the packets something that is easily readable?

By some wild stoke of luck, are these packets filled with data (like aerial 
platform location information) that can be read outright by one of the several 
APRS software packages?
