Hi Rick,

Isn't 15 feet small for a go-fast?  Even the Zodiac (RHI) the Coast Guard
uses is normally 21 feet.

That sounds like a D.C. Harbor Patrol boat.  D.C. Harbor uses marine channel
17 (156.85) in addition to the MPD channels that Tom noted.

The Coast Guard seems to make sporadic appearances on the D.C. waterways.
Sometimes I hear them on 157.15 or 157.075.  Somebody has to be maintaining
their "comm guard" and usually it's Activities Baltimore.  But there are
times when the CG boats are on the river and I hear nothing on the marine
channels from them.

It's almost as if the CG HQ has its own radio net.  Perhaps they use Nextel?
