Ask politely. The peoople calling you are not the ones responsible for
the calls. They are just punching the clock for minimum. Interrupt the
spiel when you can and say, "please put me on your 'do not call' list."
They always do so, with no complaint whatsoever. Charities are exempt
from the do not call list.

You can't eliminate spam, but you can put a big dent in it. Pay a visit
to the Usenet group news.admin.net-abuse.email and start asking
questions.
