I can answer that one! The other radio traffic you hear on the Fire 1 =
for St. Mary's 800mhz system is actually "skip" coming in from Carroll =
County near Balt. Their dispatch is on 33.940mhz which is the "old" =
dispatch from St. Mary's. Now the new freq is 154.980mhz. However due =
to all of the fire/ems stations not having the new radios, the "old" =
33.940 is being patched into the 800 system.=20
It will stop once all of the fire/ems stations and ambulances, fire =
trucks etc have the new 800 radios installed. The same happened with our =
police radios the 39.460 was patched and we still had the skip comig in =
from CHP until all were installed. Hope this helps give me an e-mail =
with any other questions or comments..
