All,
In the early 1000 hour caught some of the Northrop-Grumman test unit aircraft
at BWI on their discrete freq (123.225) as they were getting ready to depart
for the day's activity.
N160W (T-40 Sabreliner) was chatting w/N165W (B-737-247) about the day's
activity. N615W was scheduled for about 1.5 hours in the BWI Class B
airspace, then over to Dover area before returning BWI--all at an altitude of
6,500 ft. In the late 1100 hour N165W was working w/Dover approach (132.425).
N160W then checked in w/N168W (T-40 Sabreliner) as they coordinated their
taxi out. As they were taxing out, N160W informed N168W that one of their
main tires was almost flat. N160W shut down his engines and waited while
maintenance fixed the tire on N168W.
Also noted N168W trying to contact Northrop Base on 123.2---first time I've
heard this freq used by these guys.
BTW: Last evening I noted another Northrop-Grumman aircraft, N23NG, a
Citation V (Cessna 560) check in on 123.225 as they landed at BWI.
