This program hasn't been updated in a very long time, but the shareware
program "WinTone" claims to do what you are looking for. You can check it
out at:

Like I said, it's somewhat old (for Win 95 and Win NT, not currently tested
on Win 98), but I hope this helps with your request.

Subject: [Scan-DC] Scanner Program

I have been thinking about this for some time now. I'm sure that it's
possible.. I'm looking for a program that will listen to the audio input
from my scanner (mic input) for certain tones (ie: Montgomery County) and
then raise the volume or play an alert tone on my computer. Hm, sounds
basically like a make-shift Intrac (spelling). Of course, MC I believe
will be doing away with the tones with PS2000.

Anyone have any leads on a program of this sort? I'm a huge scanner buff
that doesn't like to miss the big incidents or the calls from my station.

Thanks,

David
