Aerial convoy at Penn Station was part of drill

BALTIMORE - Rush-hour commuters were treated to an unusual display of
aerial activity yesterday [Wednesday] at Penn Station [in Baltimore],
where travelers reported seeing two roaring Black Hawk helicopters follow
a high-speed Acela Express train, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Now that it is over, I can tell you that the reason they were flying
above Penn Station is that this year's Army/Navy Game which was today,
was played at the Meadowlands. The four helicopters were escorting the
Army/Navy Special train along the NEC from Washington, since it was
deemed a possible terrorist target. 
.... 
the real reason they went was to check the flight path and fuel
requirements for today's mission.
