All,
Did a little listening while down in the Annapolis area today:
1. It appears that CG Station Annapolis uses 157.05 as their discrete freq.
41-ft Patrol Craft CG 41-453 appears to be based there.
2. During an exchange with a CG auxiliary aircraft, Activities Baltimore
stated that he was operating from the Bay Bridge high repeater. During the
afternoon, Activities Baltimore was working with a couple of auxiliary
aircraft, N68W and N8782Y, both of which appeared to be operating over the
western shore and then over the Inner Harbor areas.
3. CG Activities Baltimore around 1300 issued a Notice to Mariners that a
portion of the northern Bay, up near Aberdeen was closed to pleasure boating,
fishing and crabbing traffic from about 0800 to 1800 hours. The area was
being patrolled by range boats from Aberdeen and boaters wishing to find out
more could contact them on chnl 68 (156.425). What I found a little
disconcerting was a announcement at the end of the closure that during this
time frame boaters should not pick up anything they see in the waters in that
area, remenants, floating debris, etc as it could be potentially dangerous
and toxic.
