I wish some of y'all *had* stayed up. I get my best and most timely
information about these things from this list. When the shooting at
Seven Corners happened, I heard about it here a full minute before I saw
it on CNN and got better initial information, too.

I was up all nite since I'm on that shift right now, but I had to depend
entirely on CNN and MSNBC for my information about this development. I
kept logging into my personal email to see if anyone was posting to this
list, especially after one of the TV reporters attributed some tidbits
of information they were reporting to having heard it on police scanners
they had with them, but alas, nothing.

Being a thousand miles away from the metro area, I felt truly info
deprived.
