Yeah, I've been in the one next to Staples (I think) and spoke with a guy
who knew his stuff, I was trying to get a replacement BIOS battery for a
486, which they didn't have.  After I showed him the old one, a 4.5 V
alkaline, we figured out that we could just replace it with three AAAs in
a battery clip.

In my experience with Radio Shack, it really depends on the store and
who's working there that day.  Sometimes you get the blank stares
(probably because all you have to know to get a job there is where most
things are), other times you get electronics geniuses and you wonder why
they're working at Radio Shack if they're that smart.
